Bernhard Jaretz (*1991, Vienna) gained his first musical experience on the piano and the recorder at the age of 6. With the support of a committed music educator, these points of contact led him to various music education studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts (voice, piano). Based on his own choir experience, he quickly approached various facets of choral practice via the main artistic subject of choral conducting (with A. Glassner, J. Hiemetsberger and M. Grohotolsky).

Since 2014, Bernhard Jaretz has been involved in the foundation and continuous development of the Vienna Lakeside Music Academy in Vienna's Seestadt Aspern. There he leads both the choir and the orchestra as well as major artistic projects such as staged productions and children's projects. Since 2018, he has been working with the Neue Oper Wien (NOW) and the Wiener Kammerchor. For the highly artistic productions of the NOW, he is in charge of casting and rehearsing the choir and he assists the artistic director, Walter Kobera, in all choir and ensemble aspects.

As of 2017, Bernhard Jaretz has also been working as music teacher and media creator. In the course of his teaching, he has developed innovative concepts for multi-faceted music teaching and published related media (school books, series of educational videos) for the use of a large expert audience and for further training. At his school, he set up a musical focus currently comprising 3 classes. He also leads the school orchestra and choir.

Bernhard Jaritz, despite his young age, brings in a wealth of musical and pedagogical experience, to establish and further develop the St. Stephen's choir school as the talent school for young singers.
